The development of bus traffic is closely linked to the development of the city itself. The city of Skopje has an almost centuries-old tradition when it comes to the main bus station. For a variety of reasons its location was not constant over time, but as an object it always performed its duty.

The International Bus Station in Skopje is the largest bus stop in the Republic of Macedonia. It is a bus stop that carries the largest number of timetables, both domestically and abroad. There is no bigger place in the Republic of Macedonia that has no timetable from Skopje to it and vice versa. It should also be noted that international bus lines operate from the bus station. Currently, buses from 20 European countries are departing from Skopje.

Every year the number of timetables that are realized from the bus station increases. It should also be noted that the number of passengers using the bus services is increasing year by year.
